There are six modules in the Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF) Training course, with one extra module for NBCTs who Certified under a previous process. The course is self-paced, but we will offer four online sessions to process and discuss the material more deeply.
To maximize our time together, the course will be conducted using a Flipped Classroom model. We will complete sections of the course in advance of the virtual meetings, and then discuss them during follow-up sessions.
Only Virginia NBCT Network Members who have been trained through this PLF course will be eligible to provide support to candidates in the VA NBCT Network's paid support programs.
New & Continuing National Board Candidate Support
September 2024 to May 2025
The Virginia NBCT Network's Candidate Support Program begins in August 2024 and runs through May 2025 with monthly meetings led virtually by trained Professional Learning Facilitators (PLFs). The course includes an in-person Summit and Writing Retreat in March 2025.
Participants will explore National Board Certification and will receive expert guidance on all Four Components of the NB Certification process, as needed.

$395 for 9 Monthly Sessions + Summit

MOC Candidate Support
August 2024 to May 2025
The Maintenance of Certification (MOC) support is for National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) who are working to maintain their National Board Certification.
MOC Support begins in August 2024 and runs through May 2025 with monthly meetings led by trained Professional Learning Facilitators (PLFs). The course includes an in person Summit and Writing Retreat in March 2025.
Participants will explore the MOC process and take a deep dive into Components 1 and 2. Facilitators and candidates will discuss examples of Professional Growth Experiences (PGEs) and Samples of Products (SOPs), provide writing tips, submission information, and additional supports to help candidates along their MOC journeys.
During these sessions, participants will have opportunities to collaborate with fellow NBCTs who are also pursuing their MOC.
